WALK OF STYLE 2006
Famed fashion house Salvatore Ferragamo retained MSEM to collaborate on their 2006 Walk of Style event in Los Angeles. The City of Beverly Hills shut down Rodeo Drive for the gala affair and threw a multi-million dollar celebration of the iconic designer and his impact on fashion. The night included live music by superstar rapper/producer Kanye West, a Ferragamo runway fashion show and presentations by Anjelica Houston and Eva Mendes. MSEM provided several key musical elements of the evening - from programming and production to performance.
The evening began with a VIP cocktail party that led into an awards presentation. For the cocktail portion of the night, MSEM selected and performed elegant, sophisticated songs to match the upscale nature of the Ferragamo brand. Additionally, we worked closely with the event's producers, The Donahue Group, to program and execute on musical segues between the cocktail party and the award ceremony.
The event continued with a runway show of Ferragamo's Cruise collection and a live performance from Kanye West, who was backed by a 12-piece orchestra. For the runway show, MSEM collaborated with Ferragamo's Milan design team to select songs for their upcoming Cruise Collection. We then produced the music for the full runway show, matching the pacing and flow of the different looks within the collection. Ferragamo's runway presentation was seamless and was regarded by attending fashion insiders and press as a highlight of Walk of Style.
Kanye West followed the Cruise Collection show with an electrifying 90 minute set that brought the 1,200-person crowd to their feet. Following West's live performance, MSEM built off the explosive energy the rapper had created with an uptempo dance set. Following the hi-energy set, we eased guests back down with a set of downtempo selections to close the evening.
Most importantly, the result of MSEM and Ferragamo's collaboration was a fully integrated music services solution to the brand's needs and one of the most well received events of the season.
